The car looks beautiful. I have always thought the old thunderbirds looked sharp. The picture itself looks a little yellowish, so I was wondering what the actual color of the car is. If it is a sky blue, I can picture it in my head, and I am sure it looks beautiful. I used to own '56 Cadillac S&S Hearse that was sky blue...and it was so beautiful. I miss it :(. As for the dent...I learned a cool little trick: If you use dry ice on a hot day, the metal will contract and the dent will go away. On the other hand, if you do not like the idea of placing fry ice on the paint job, you can use a dryer to heat the area, then spray the area with compressed air (holding can upside down)....this accomplishes the same thing.

Beautiful car, but agree, the hipe is 8 years past. To me, personally, I'd still rather have the Unique Performance build, signed by Carroll Shelby; making it a Shelby GT-500E. Without the Shelby badges, this is just another Mustang clone, but a beautiful one at best. I'll keep looking-

I know I have read two tips for keeping rechromed parts shiny during a restoration. One was to put a heavy coating of paste wax over it but don't buff it off. The other was to coat it with petroleum jelly. I would think it wouldn't do much, for general corrosion protection. It seems like it would be too thick to displace moisture. Also, you would have no way of ensuring an air/moisture tight environment.

I would think you would be better off with one of the coatings specifically designed for this purpose. Alternately, hit it with some Rustoleum (or the like) if you still have to do some body work on it. You're gonna have to strip it anyway, so what's the difference?

The owner of the car (Mustang) should have taken a golf club to the SOB that did the damage. Jealously is the trait of small minded people and is no excuse for causing that kind of damage to a persons property.

This is a 16' 1961 Bambi (You add the tongue to the footage when you are talking trailers). I have one of these...have had it for around 15 years. Was told by Historian of Vintage Airstream Club that mine is the 16th one built.
