A couple months ago we mentioned the New York Times Collectible Car of the Year contest. We have a winner and it’s probably not the car you expected. Mixed in amongst muscle cars, classics and exotics was Gavin Rhodes’ 1959 Triumph TR3A. The Triumph lived up to its namesake by coming out on top of a field of 30 finalist. Roughly 4,500 votes were counted and Rhodes walked away with a $5,000 top prize and a trophy. Click through to the New York Times story to read more about the car.
