Nerd Car Market Growing?

This article on The Province web site gave me a chuckle. The Vancouver-based newspaper site published an article titled, “Nerd cars are so square they’re hip.” The piece highlights the growing desirability of the so-called nerd car. You know what we’re talking about here — the Pacer, Gremlin, Chevette and similar automobiles of questionable design. The author says it’s not so much about desirability as it is about price. Even when the economy is allegedly slowing, the price of desirable cars puts them out of reach of most potential collectors. Not so with the nerd cars. They are still as affordable as ever.
