Ford vs. Volga, Early 1950’s

Today, we hear about Chinese companies duplicating the design of American, European, Korean and Japanese cars. Back in the early 1950’s, it was the Russian automaker Volga (GAZ) and Ford. Most notable is the first series GAZ-21 Volga, illustrated below on the postcard.

There is some rather spirited discussion on the English Russia page regarding the similarities between the 1953 Ford and the GAZ-21.
