Destroying Chrysler’s Turbine Cars
WARNING. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of this video stating it is not for the feint of heart. I would have to agree with the disclaimer. This video depicts scenes of unspeakable violence against Chrysler Turbine prototypes.
Only a handful of the Chrysler Turbine cars exist to this day and this video sheds some light on how this sad fact came to be. Back in the day, this was standard procedure for discarding prototypes and concept vehicles that outlived their usefulness. Unfortunately, this still is standard procedure in some instances — the GM EV1 being a recent high-profile example. The EV1 was even the subject of the documentary “Who Killed The Electric Car” that chronicled the destruction of the cars after the lease term was finished.
