Chicago Auto Show - Part I
Six hours. Four-wheel-drive. 45 miles per hour top speed. That sums up the trip to Chicago in the wee hours of February 6th. The media preview happened to coincide with one of the largest snowstorms of the season. When I started out there was about an inch of snow on the road. By the time I hit Milwaukee around 3:00 AM there was no longer an Interstate to follow, just the path of whoever was unfortunate enough to have gone through first. At the Illinois state line the blizzard turned mostly to rain and the roads were slushy but at least I could tell I was still on it without listening for the rumble strips. Anyway, here are a few shots of the display celebrating the 100th Chicago Auto Show:
1902 Cadillac Runabout
1905 Buick Model C Touring Car
1905 Franklin Gentleman’s Runabout
1906 Waltham Orient Buckboard
