Cars of the Godfather

Believe it or not, I didn’t see any of the Godfather movies until about two years ago. As I was watching the first installment I was thinking, “This is an awesome car movie!” There are tons of period luxury cars from the 1940’s through the late 1950’s. Shown prominently are a number of Cadillacs (including flower cars), a 1941 Lincoln Continental (Sonny at the toll booth), a 1946 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 (”Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…”) and a 1941 Packard Super Eight (”Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.”) It’s funny how the best car movies sometimes don’t have anything to do with cars.
