Last week we published a blog entry titled Shelby’s Charity Under Scrutiny about an Automotive News article which appeared in the July 23 issue. The article stated the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation was giving too little compared to its cash intake. The allegations were backed up with numbers from the past several years.

Carroll Shelby quickly responded to the Automotive News article to put to rest the idea that anything inappropriate may have been taking place at his foundation. AutoWeek has published the original article in its entirety, along with Shelby’s response. Reader reaction has been mixed, with many people supporting Shelby and his foundation, along with others who have cast a questionable gaze at the raw numbers shown in Kathy Jackson’s article.
