Gas Prices Kill New Imperial

The Imperial nameplate almost made it back to the Chrysler fold, but alas, gas prices have killed the king. Chrysler will instead concentrate on the next generation 300 series car. The Imperial concept — looking none-too-little like a Rolls-Royce wannabe — was introduced in 2006, and while production plans came close to fruition, it is not to be. Chrysler said it would be “irresponsible” to launch the new full-size luxury sedan in today’s market.
