2008 Model T, Or Not
Today we have another interesting find by the guys over at Hemmings. What you are looking at here is a concept rendering by David Beasley of a hypothetical — please let it be hypothetical — 2008 Model T. If it didn’t have the giant “T” in the front fascia along with the Ford emblem I would never in a million years have guessed this was inspired the Model T.
The only heritage I’m seeing here is a vague nod toward a phaeton-ish roofline coupled with an upright windshield, which recall no vehicle in particular as those design elements were widely used for decades. The rest of the car looks like it was patterned after a species of aggressive alien honeybees bent on destroying our domestic automobile industry. Of particular note is the angular insect-like honeycomb front end treatment along with the extensive use of sectional cells that resemble the wings of a bug. It’s even shooting laser beams out of its headlights. Oh, wait… insects, aliens, and the Model T. Wasn’t it obvious right from the start? Ok, maybe not.
