This Double Cab is totally original except for the paint. Bought new from an Antelope Valley California VW dealer, this pickup was rarely driven and traded back in 1978. The second owner bought and stored it, only driving on his quarter horse ranch or using it as a sign display.

This VW Pickup was born in Savanna Beige but now wears a VW Neptune Blue. The body is totally CA grade dry rust free. It has a 6 year old paint job that is nice, shiny drive grade but it does have some edge chips on bottom and it hinge areas. All the drop gates are incredibly dent and rust free as well as the doors, bumpers and engine hatch. Still has all original glass.

The undercarriage is also rust free and all original. It even has the factory belly pan under the cab and original spare with all tools and jack. Interior has restored with VW correct vinyl materials as well as the floor carpets and door panels.

The original radio still sits undisturbed under a crack free dash board. The glove box is still has factory cardboard. All controls and gauges work. Yes even the heater! Odometer shows only 25,124 miles and we believe that to be correct. Engine and drivetrain are all original and correct.

The 1600 engine is had no modifications what so ever and was refreshed in 2007. It still wears the factory oil bath air cleaner, vacuum advance distributor and exhaust system, WOW! It runs smooth and starts right up. Transmission shifts smooth and stays in gear, even in reverse! All suspension is in good shape, steering is good and has newer 15 radial tires original wheels and caps.
