1960 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
When you talk Volkswagen most peoples minds immediately go to the slug bug or those cool vintage vans. Most people forget that Volkswagen also put out a sleek little sports car that looks much more like a vintage Porsche than a bug. The Karmann Ghia is arguably the most attractive car VW ever produced. Lets face it, with the THING and Beetle it didn't have to much competition, but even against other cars of the time it holds its own. The sporty roadster body on this 1960 Karmann Ghia is coated in a slick Gray paint that has a nice finish. The split front grill is nicely mounted in place and helps give the front end that iconic appearance. The front and rear bumpers are nicely chromed with no major pitting. A side mirror is only in place on the drivers side with the antenna on the passengers. All of the exterior electrical is working just as it should with no problems. The classic "Karmann Ghia" emblem is cleanly mounted on the deck lid. The car rides on an original style set of wheels with those classic VW chrome center caps.
This 1960s Karmann Ghia brochure may be a little tough to read because it is all in German! However, it is still pretty cool to check out! Pop the hood and you may be shocked to see only the spare wheel staring back. Just as with their other line of cars VW continued the rear engine theme here. In back is the 1192 cc motor that runs very smoothly with no problems. The manual transmission shifts with no issues and makes the car really fun to drive. Check out the table below to get some specs on the engine breakdown (provided by carnut. com. )
The interior of the car is all vintage and a blast from the past. The Red plaid catches your eye and looks great with the Gray exterior. The bucket seats are nice and comfortable with the rear seat still nicely mounted in place. The dash is coated in Gray to match the car and is topped with a nice Red dash pad. All of the vintage original style knobs, switches, and gauges are in place and working just as they should. A very cool feature is the vintage radio. This is actually just a false cover that easily removes with velcro to reveal the added AM/FM stereo underneath. This way you can preserve that vintage look while still having some modern features. The Black top on the car is in great condition and raises and lowers with no problems. All of the top hardware is in nice condition with no issues.
This is the type of car that you will want to hop in just to cruise around town. It will provide you hours of fun while still being a great car to drive just on your regular errands. It isn't everyday you can hop into a classic for such an affordable price! Especially one that is running and driving as well as this one!
This cool convertible could be yours for $22,500.00!
