About Rambler
COMPANY
Owning a Rambler is equivalent to owning a rare treasure. The Rambler was an auto brand that a few companies used. The Thomas B. Jeffery Company used the Rambler brand from 1897 to 1914. After 1914, the Rambler automobile brand was used by Nash Motors for a short period of time. Rambler was used by Nash Motors between 1950 and 1954. The Rambler was last used by the American Motors Corporation, between the years of 1954 to 1969.
Thomas B. Jeffery built his first automobile prototype with the help of the Rambler car brand. Along with car prototypes and manufacturing cars, Thomas B. Jeffery also produced Rambler bicycles. The Rambler was manufactured in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The first prototypes of the Rambler were ahead of their time. Jeffery had built car prototypes with steering wheels and front mounted engines. When it was time to produce and manufacture these cars with the steering wheels and front mounted engines, Thomas was talked out of his ideas and used the tillers and engines that were under the seat. The Rambler car brand was sold to Nash Motors shortly after Thomas' death.
With its new name, the Nash Rambler was introduced to Americans in the 1950s. The Nash Rambler was transformed into a convertible top, 2-door sedan. This new stylish look was a huge success and led to high sales. After the merger of Nash-Kelvinator and Hudson Motor Car Company, American Motors Corporation (AMC) was born. The Rambler was then under the AMC manufacture. In the late 1950s the style of the Rambler included rear vertical fin, front grill and side trimming.
To own a Rambler car is to find a piece of American folklore. The fact that the car was not manufactured by the same company for long and that the Rambler manufacture came to a halt in 1969 makes any model and make of a Rambler unique. Having a classic car such as the Rambler allows you to take a look into American history with each ride.
