1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

The 1989 911 Speedster may just be one of the most iconic and recognizable Porsches ever to drive off of the Stuttgart production line. As the economy decreased and 911 sales slowed in the late 1980s, Porsche executives thought of a way to boost their sales--build a \"throwback\"car to the days of Max Hoffman and the 356 Speedster. Hey. . it worked in the '50s, why not now? Debuted at the '88 Frankfurt auto show, Porsche produced 2,065 of them beginning in the summer of 1989. Of those that survive, this sub-8000 mile has to be one of the coolest!

While most usual 911 options were available, the Speedster had roll-up windows, a raked windshield, the Turbo chassis, four-piston cross-drilled disc brakes, and a more basic manual top than the regular Cabriolet. The '89 Speedster was also the last \"true\"911 model to be built at the old Stuttgart factory.

This 1989 Speedster is one of the nicest that you will find. Black exterior on a black leather interior, under 8,000 miles, and flawless paint, makes this car one to own! This Speedster's exterior condition makes it appear as if it just rolled off the showroom floor. We buffed the paint to an amazing gloss, with nearly no mars from tip to tail. The original wheels are perfect, wrapped in Toyo T1R tires. The top is, as you'd expect, beautiful. The wildest part of the whole car have to be the 993 lights--they're fully integrated into the turbo fenders. Look at the side profile. . it's what Porsche should have done!

Take a look inside and feel the super soft black leather seats. Grip the cool-looking MOMO D36 steering wheel, place your arm on the Speedster-specific padded door tops, and examine the meticulously cared for interior. An Alpine CDE-9873 stereo is in the dash, belting out tunes better than the old Reno unit ever did. Take a look at the seats: If you look at a standard Speedster they use the regular production seats and they stand out like crazy in the side profile. In keeping with the low and lean Speedster tradition, the previous owner had them cut down. Again, they look like they belong! Underneath, we've stripped the Cosmoline and cleaned it up like new condition. Look over the bright gold cad plating, the crisp aluminum. . it's preserved and clean!

This 911 runs like a champ and looks great doing it. Extremely low miles, a low production run, complete with the black on black color combo, proves that this Speedster will be a collectible for years to come!
