Pontiac Turbo Trans Am, for sale in Arlington, Texas, for $18,400.
1980 Turbo Trans Am
One of the most famous car movies of all time was the Smokey and the Bandit series. The original movie came out in 1977, followed by part II in 1980, and the last one in 1983. These films made everyone want the famous “ Black Trans Am”. This car is a replica of the one used in the 1980 sequel…a black 1980 T-top Turbo Trans Am. The car is a previous restoration and has been modified in some areas.
The original black paint was reapplied in a shiny gloss finish, and the original gold decals and pinstripes were put back in place. The aluminum Turbo wheels were repainted in gold to finish up the original exterior look. The glass T-tops are like new and do not leak. The buckskin interior is very clean and mostly original. The seats have been recovered in soft black and tan velour, and some matching Trans Am floor mats look great on the new carpet. A good cruising car like this deserves some good tunes to go along with it, so the original radio and speakers were replaced with a nice sounding Pioneer Super Tuner CD player and speakers.
Popping the hood open you might notice something a little different. The original 4.9 liter turbo engine was replaced with a modified small block 350 cubic inch Chevy. This high performance motor has aluminum heads, aluminum intake, high performance camshaft, gold Moroso valve covers, K&N air cleaner and filter, chrome alternator, headers with aluminized exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. It is backed up by a turbo 350, 3 speed automatic transmission with a stall converter. The a/c is all intact and blows cold. This black beauty runs great and sounds awesome!
