Pontiac Streamliner Woody Station Wagon, for sale in Volo, Illinois, for $85,000.
The Pontiac Streamliner line was introduced in 1942 as the full-size car based upon the restyled Torpedo body. General Motors built upon the success of the earlier Cadillac turret bodied cars. Pontiac continued the trend with more sleek and streamlined production cars which would be sold to a broader mid-market.
This Pontiac "Woody" Streamliner is an extremely rare 1946 8 cylinder model. Very few mid 40's cars can claim a real world NADA guide valuation in excess of $122,000 like this model currently reports. Several professional restoration experts estimate it would take up to 3000 man-hours to complete a full restoration. We've saved the next owner the from the uphill battle of restoration AND the high market price. This is the "Big Chief" of the post war 40's Woodies and we're eager to tell you why.
Bumper to Bumper this Pontiac Woody commands a closer look. From the cavernous wood-lined interior to the impressive Streamliner Straight Eight in front of the firewall this model exudes attention to detail. Some of the new parts include Radial Tires, Vinyl Top, Complete Front End, Front Springs and Shocks, Clutch, Pressure Plate Master Cylinder, U Joints, Carburetor, Fuel Pump, Wiring Harness, and Carpets. The Starter, Generator Rear Springs, Radiator and Heater Control System have been rebuilt. The original Ash and Walnut woodwork is in very good condition which glows with varnished warmth. This is a very well-sorted classic Woody that is a step above nearly every other mid-40s station wagon around. You must see this Pontiac for yourself! Complete video of this vehicle available.
