1970 Plymouth Road Runner 440+6

Beep! Beep! …and then you lose. Just like the poor coyote this Lime Light, factory six pack-equipped beeper leaves the competition in the dust--and looks good doing it!

Original V code 440 Six Barrel car Original four speed transmission car Original Air Grabber hood car Bucket seats, rallye wheels and more!

Start outside with the killer look. FJ5 Sublime paint might not be factory original on this car, but it looks great, so who can blame the restorer? Glossy paint covers very straight panels as the base for all of the factory options from the blacked out paint on the hood to the tail stripe in reflective black. New 15” chrome Magnum 500’s look fantastic at all four corners, as do the 225/70/15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A’s. Chrome items from the bumpers to the door handles and side view mirror either are or shine like new. The grille was treated to a full restoration with both dark and light argent paints and looks better than new. The Air Grabber is definitely the top option here, and with the hood pins l, stripes and big “440+6” decals looks amazing. The stance is right and the color scheme can’t be argued with--the car’s a winner!

Put the car on the lift and see everything’s new. The front and rear suspensions feature new parts and are highly detailed. The Dana 60 is redone from axle to axle, filled with the original 3.54 gears and bulletproof Sure Grip. The A833 Hemi 4 Speed 18 spline transmission mates to the engine with a brand new clutch. There’s a new fuel tank, new brake components and new lines everywhere. There’s a new dual exhaust system with tough sounding Flowmaster mufflers and chrome tips for the sound and the look. The floors are clean sheet metal covered in glossy green paint-this car looks as good underneath as it does on top.

The real star of this show is under the hood--the rebuilt 1972 H440HP replacement mill topped with a freshened and ready to go six pack. The engine is coated in clean Mopar Hemi Orange paint while the air cleaner is its own correct shade. Hooker Super Competition headers carry away spent fuel while a Mopar electronic ignition provides the spark. A fresh radiator, new hoses and wiring and new tune up parts means this runner’s ready to go!

Hop inside the fully restored interior and get comfortable. Those are new seat covers under you, new door panels at your sides, a new dash pad up front, a new headliner up top and new carpeting below. New sill plates brighten your entry while restored gauges with an in dash tach let you know what’s going on up front. That’s the correct Hurst pistol grip in your right hand and a brand new BE/A woodgrain wheel in your left. This is a comfortable cruiser ready for show duties and the open road!

With most Road Runners leaving the factory carrying Mopar’s standard 383 a true V code six barrel car is not an easy car to find. With excellent cosmetics, the original fender tag for documentation and an upward trend in values this is an excellent investment car which is simply a flat-out blast to own!
