This photo was taken during the summer of 1980 when my dad junked out a 1951 Kaiser Special 4-door sedan. The car was stock, equipped with a 3-speed manual with overdrive and the 226-c.i.d. flathead six (seized up). At the time, it was considered "too rough to restore", but there was plenty that could have been salvaged from it: cylinder head, distributor, generator, transmission, other engine and suspension parts, interior trim, etc. Hindsight is always 20/20, folks. EVERY orphan is worth, or can contribute to, a complete restoration.
