All of BMW's Z series cars have been special, but there are some even amongst this group that stand out from the crowd.
The BMW Z8 is one such example, noteworthy as a result of its rarity, since just under 6,000 were built during its four year run of production.
Equipped with a 4.9 litre V8 engine pulled out of the M5, it can hit 60mph in a fraction over four seconds, with its roadster design giving it a unique look that has allowed it to ascend into the ranks of other open top classics.
Auto Revolution reports that the BMW Z8 currently on sale at JamesList.com, has an asking price of almost $150,000, which shows that there is high demand for such an unusual car.
About half of the Z8s produced between 1999 and 2003 were sold in the US, so it is not an entirely outlandish sight. However, enthusiasts tend to hold onto the cars they love for a long time, so any opportunity to get a slice of automotive history like this is not to be missed.
It is safe to assume that the Z8 will continue to become more valuable as the years pass and its classic status is confirmed.
