While there are literally millions of Grand Prix racing fans all over the globe, there may only be a few hundred thousand that have heard of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.
A car race and rally alike and no other, all of the cars that are entered into this race must be at least 25 years old. However, this means that a number of exciting vintage muscle cars (and exotics from all over the world) make up the field for this kind of race. It’s not uncommon to see old school For Mustangs go up against Camaros, Corvettes, and even a handful of vintage BMWs and Mercedes-Benz automobiles. This year is focusing on the Ford Mustang, with a number of specific Shelby Mustang Cobras entering a number of different of vents.
A race that has spanned 31 years (and helped to raise nearly $3.2 million for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegany Valley School, each and every single year this vintage Grand Prix is able to raise almost $250,000 – with this year’s projection to be even higher. Definitely come out for a week of fun and racing if you’re in the area!
