Barrett-Jackson's 3rd Annual Orange County, California auction took place last weekend, with sales of more than 400 cars over three days topping $14 million.

The top seller was not a classic car, instead it was a 2013 SRT Viper Two Door Coupe, auctioned for charity, in this case the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. The Viper sold for $300,000. Eight lots were sold with proceeds going to charities, raising more than $1.1 million. Barrett-Jackson waived all fees and commissions for the charity lots.

The top selling classic car was a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 (pictured above), with a winning bid of $253,000. Other big classic car sales were a 1965 Ford Ranchero Custom Pickup for $200,000, and a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible for $154,000.

““Orange County definitely is one of the best places to meet like-minded enthusiasts and collectors,” said Barrett-Jackson President Steve Davis. “It doesn’t matter what walk of life you come from — the shared passion and interest for all things automotive is so overwhelmingly prevalent that you will always be among friends here.”
