Nicko McBrain started drumming with metal heroes Iron Maiden back in 1982 and, in a recent interview with Motor Trend, he spoke about his extensive car history and his love of British auto manufacturer, Jaguar.
McBrain revealed that he has only ever purchased one car new, which is a one of a kind Jaguar XKR-S that was delivered to him earlier this year. Previously he has only ever spent money on used and classic cars, which is unsurprising for a man who loves the best of British.
He also gave an interesting overview of the cars he has owned in the past, citing the weirdest purchase as being a Porsche 944 that he picked up in 1986.
McBrain apparently kept the Porsche 944 for only a brief period because at the time he did not actually have a valid driving license and was also away on tour for much of the year.
Although McBrain has had dalliances with other manufacturers, it has always been Jaguar that captures his attention and passion.
When it comes to the topic of new cars, McBrain said that the massive depreciation in value that occurs over the first few years put him off buying one. On the other hand, classic cars for sale are often seen as an investment.
