Italian sports car manufacturer, Maserati, is set to introduce a brand new version of its classic Quattroporte sedan next year, with the car getting its first public viewing during the Detroit Motor Show in 2013.
The first generation of the Quattroporte was introduced back in 1963, giving high end buyers the opportunity to choose a fast, powerful vehicle, which still had four full doors and usable seats in the rear.
There have been five generations of the Quattroporte down the years, but the sixth generation's announcement this month has caused quite a stir.
Maserati also announced that it is planning to expand its operations and increase the amount of vehicles it sells each year, by almost tenfold, within the next three years.
To do this, it is looking to offer a more affordable executive sedan that cuts in on the market currently dominated by the likes of the BMW 5 Series.
It will be interesting to see whether the new Quattroporte is able to live up to the expectations set by its predecessors.
Prices are expected to start from $150,000, although you can pick up a classic Quattroporte for a little less than this steep asking price.
