If you happen to be in the vicinity of Lombard in Chicago, Illinois, from June onwards, then you might want to stop by on a Saturday evening to check out the regular classic cruise nights which are planned to be held once a week this summer.
The first event is being held on June 2 and it will run from 6 pm to 10 pm, with vintage vehicles of all kinds parked up along the streets, as well as driving down them.
Event manager, Joelyn Kott, said that there is no need for people who want to get involved to register and that there would be a real community atmosphere which would appeal to people of all ages.
One of the vehicles which is expected to be a regular feature of the cruise is a DeLorean from the mid-1980s, that was made famous by the "Back to the Future" film franchise. A local owner told the Daily Herald that he picked up the car as scrap and invested lots of time and money into its restoration to its current pristine condition.
The cruise events have been running each summer for the past decade-and-a-half, becoming an annual event to look forward to in Lombard.
