There are as yet unconfrmed reports that one of the particpant cars in the Ferrari 250 GTO Tour, held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the model, has crashed in northern France.

The car, chassis number 3445GT, the former race car of Ulf Norinder, and is painted in his racing colors of blue with a central yellow stripe.

According to axisofoversteer.com, the driver of the Ferrari, North Carolina collector Chris Cox, is in serious condition in the hospital. Three others involved in the crash are also in hospital, in less serious condition. Reportedly the Ferrari had been making a left exit of the D766, on the way to the Le Mans leg of the event, and was hit from behind.

Twenty-three of the 30 Ferrari 250 GTOs built are taking part in the event. This particular car, chassis number 3445GT, had earlier been rebuilt after being heavily damaged in an accident in 1976. While there was been no official confirmation of the accident, the car did not appear with the other cars at the event in Le Mans.
