The next two years will be particularly exciting for any fan of classic cars who wants to involve themselves in a vintage rally with a twist.
A host of events are taking place across the globe in order to entice classic car owners to take their vehicles to exotic locations and compete with like-minded individuals on some stunning courses.
Next spring, the Rally of Rajasthan will cover over 1600 miles, and only classic cars built before 1972 will be eligible to enter.
The various stages of this rally will take in some of the country's best known sights, including the Taj Mahal.
Later in the year, similar events will be held in places such as Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia.
If you want an event that is a little closer to home then you might have to wait until 2013, when the first two months of the year will play host to the South American Challenge.
Much later, in November, the Cuba Classic is being held in the balmy tropics. This event will be all the more interesting because the Cuban government has only just made it possible for citizens to invest in new cars, so there could be an untapped mine of classics available to buy.
