Classic cars are occasionally pulled out of obscurity in order to promote a new vehicle and now it looks like the Dodge Dart marque is reappearing on a new vehicle, for the first time in 36 years.
It was put out of production in 1976 having been originally created in 1960, but in 2012, the Dodge Dart will ride again, albeit in the form of a four-door sedan, which is all about meeting the economic requirements of the modern American family.
Of course the Dart was introduced in very much the same manner in the 1960s and, despite its modest size and appearance, this vehicle was relatively easy to market, thanks to its name, which matched that of a contemporary aircraft used by the military during the height of the Cold War.
The Dodge Dart is well remembered amongst those who treasure classic cars built on US soil and over the years it underwent a number of facelifts and changes. Whether its modern equivalent will have the same longevity and fondness thrust upon it remains to be seen, but with many vintage Darts still rolling on the roads, you can still invest in a slice of history.
