Burlesque performer, Dita von Teese, has given Forbes.com an overview of her collection of classic cars, a collection that is impressive in its variety and focus on vintage vehicles.
Thirty-nine-year old Dita said that her favourite automotive decade was the 1930s because of the elegance of the cars created in the US during this period.
In her collection at the moment are a 1953 Cadillac, a 1931 Packard and a 1946 Ford cabriolet, although in the past 20 years she has accumulated a number of different vehicles which she has cared for and then traded up as time goes by.
The Cadillac is perhaps the vehicle which best fits her personality, as it was once owned by Marilyn Monroe. Dita says that she is very much of the opinion that each car must be treated as if it has its own personality.
Part of her reason for parting with various cars over the years is simply because she did not click with them. Any enthusiast will likely agree with this stance, as owners, typically, put a lot of time and passion into making a relationship with a vehicle work.
Dita said that her interest in classic cars was actually relatively affordable, and sustainable, making it easy to commit.
