After the police or other law enforcement agencies carry out raids on known criminal operations, the state is often endowed with a number of saleable items that can be sold off in public auctions.
The bust-up of a drugs manufacturing operation in South Florida resulted in the seizure of a number of custom and classic cars, most of which are being auctioned this month, according to the Sun Sentinel.
One of the rarer and more exotic vehicles that is going up for sale is a 1999 Lamborghini Diablo, which will be offered alongside other classics from the US, including a 1966 Corvette and a 1930 vintage Ford.
The DEA has had control over the vehicles ever since the raid was conducted back in 2011 and those in charge of the facility which was compromised were charged with various drugs-related offences.
The money which will be raised by the sale of these classics will go towards providing compensation for the victims of crime, as well as being pumped back into the organisations which help to keep the peace and uphold the law across the country.
Sometimes it is possible to bag a bargain at a police auction, particularly if you are looking for classic cars for sale.
