The sale of classic cars from Cuba has only just been permitted and you can get your hands on one for just a few thousand dollars, according to a report from Reuters.
Earlier in the year it was announced that Cuban citizens would be allowed to buy and sell vehicles for the first time in over five decades, which means there are some excellent classic cars for sale dating from the 1950s.
You might be able to invest in a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for a cost of around $11,000 or spend closer to $15,000 if you want to get a Lada 1600 and soak up the Soviet atmosphere at the same time.
Of course there are still government sanctions in place, which mean only Cuban citizens are actually going to be allowed to buy and sell these vintage vehicles, but it seems likely that an export trade will find ways around this issue.
Three hundred people a day have been registering for the right to sell their classic car and so far 3,300 have been given permission to do so. The market is still in its very early form, but the preservation of these classics is assured.
