Classic Oldsmobile as Bentley

In an interesting twist it seems that one classic car is masquerading as another, according to a report from CarScoop.
Anyone who has spent time looking through the motoring listings on eBay, will be aware of the surprisingly large community of auto modders, who take one vehicle as a base and then alter it to look almost exactly like another, inevitably more prestigious, alternative.
In this instance, the car which is being aped is a Bentley Continental R coupe, which began production in 1991 and finished its run a little over a decade later.
This high-end vehicle would normally cost tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars, in its original condition.
However, you can pick up a pretty decent looking replica for under $10,000, based on the most recent eBay listing.
In this case, the car at the core is an Oldsmobile Cutlass, a fact which is more obvious inside than out, due to the same engine from the original being retained after the exterior modification.
Of course real classic car fans will recognise that the Continental R is not quite what it seems, but the illusion will be preserved for the majority of the public.
