The recent SEMA Show, held for those involved in the auto trade at a Las Vegas convention centre, was home to companies of all kinds, as well as plenty of classic cars.

Off-Road.com reports that one of the major displays was that of a number of vintage Willys Jeep examples, which showcased the diversity of the tasks which these classic vehicles had carried out over the years.

Amongst the most unusual Jeeps on show was a 1947 model, which had been built as a fire truck, complete with a full red paint job, a roof-mounted ladder and a built-in water pump.

There was also a 1943 Willys Jeep that, in spite of its age and various adventures, has only covered a little over 36,000 miles since it was first built.

Even a Jeep used by the British special forces, complete with mounted gun and lots of extra jerry cans strapped to the side, was at the event.

The Jeep remains a much loved American classic that has bags of personality and a strong community supporting its preservation. Although the public were not able to access the SEMA Show, there are plenty of events across the country at which these vehicles can be viewed.
