Classic cars of the custom variety were on show during the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender this week, with tens of thousands of enthusiasts turning out for the event, as it entered its 16th year.
This was not the kind of event where you would find common autos like the Ford Pinto or Dodge Stratus. Instead, it was dedicated to hot rods and classics from the 1950s and earlier, most of which have been heavily modified by their owners, to make them seriously powerful.
More than 1,000 vehicles arrived to take part in the four day event, with many participants coming from distant states to showcase their prized rods.
As well as catering to car fanatics, the event was also host to 60 live acts, playing the best in rockabilly music, which is in keeping with the classic vibe.
There was even a fashion show, with various models sporting the kinds of outfits that were popular 60 years ago.
The 16th year of the show was its biggest and best yet, so you can be sure that it will be back in 2014, if you are thinking of visiting and experiencing the impressive sight of acres of hot rods under the Nevada sun.
