Classic cruise raises cash

Classic car owners are known to be a generous bunch and a cruise organised recently in Greenville, North Carolina, reflected that ethos, after it managed to raise thousands of dollars for a charity that supports wounded soldiers.
A large group of classic cars from throughout the years, along with custom rods and modified vehicles, were brought together this month for the cruise, with all donations going to the Wounded Warrior project.
Cruise organiser, Dan Rogers, told WNTC News that he and the other participants simply wanted to have the opportunity to give something back to those in the armed forces who have already made their own sacrifices for the country.
The cruise itself was a first for Greenville and it is hoped that many more will be held in future years, so that the following of the event can grow.
Classic American cars, including the Mercury Cougar and others, were featured in the event, which is of course reliant on the support of the local community to ensure that it is actually a success.
Similar fund raising efforts may well be ongoing in your local area, so it is worth getting involved if you have a classic car and some free time.
