Seventy-seven year old classic car fan and prolific vintage vehicle collector, Harvey Hielkema is going to be selling over ten of his prized autos during an auction held in Wisconsin this month.

All of the money raised by the classic cars for sale will not be going back into his pocket, but will instead be passed on to Feed My Starving Children, a charity which helps to keep underprivileged kids away from the pangs of hunger.

The various classic cars that are going under the hammer are very prestigious, with a 1917 Model T Ford and a 1930 Model A both sure to make a splash when they are sold by Hager Auction Services.

Mr Hielkema has a passion for Chevrolets and has collected a number over the past 15 years. A 1963 Nova Convertible, a '78 Camaro and even an '84 Corvette will all be up for sale.

Perhaps the most unusual lot will be a horse buggy that originally belonged to an Amish community. While it may not have a motor, it certain has novelty value.

The full list of cars on offer is:

  • 1917 Model T Ford
  • 1930 Model A Ford
  • 1957 Chevy 4 Door with 21,000 miles
  • 1963 Chevy Nova Convertible
  • 1978 Chevy Camaro Arizona Car
  • 1983 Ford Mustang Convertible with 80,000 miles
  • 1984 Chevy Corvette with 14,416 miles

Mr Hielkema said that his collection had cost him around $70,000 dollars over the years and he expects to make more than this for charity at the auction.
