A garage in Colorado is making a difference by converting classic cars to run on electric motors, preserving the looks and presence of vintage vehicles, while making them environmentally viable in an eco-conscious world.
Duke's Garage in Westminster is the place to take your classic Porsche Speedster or Spyder, according to 9 News. It has been doing the special conversions for the past 3 years, combining the importance of restoration with the ethical consciousness of modern technology.
A whole host of classic cars have been modified at the garage, from high end sports cars like a 1965 Mustang, to more humble, yet equally venerable vehicles like the VW Beetle.
The benefits of using an electric motor to power a classic car go beyond fuel efficiency and environmental concerns. The car will become much easier to service thanks to fewer moving parts and it will be much easier to maintain and keep for future generations.
The restoration and conversion process is unsurprisingly expensive, but this is a price many will be willing to pay if it allows them to keep up with their favourite hobby, own an electric vehicle like no other and look out for the planet.
