An event for classic cars held at a historic race track in Goshen, New York was a real success, with people travelling from far and wide to showcase their vintage vehicles in front of other enthusiasts.
Goshen's Historic Track is nationally known because it is the oldest of its kind to have hosted harness racing. The Classic Car & Motorcycle show is held in order to drum up some cash to help with the upkeep of this venue.
Because it is not built for racing cars, but horse-drawn buggies, the gravel surface of the track was very different to traditional tarmac, but this meant that the adverse weather which occurred prior to the start of the event did not affect proceedings.
A total of 89 cars and bikes from bygone decades turned up at the track and there were several prizes delivered to the best presented vehicles on the day, broken down into categories based on the age of the autos.
Hundreds of dollars were raised to help preserve the Historic Track and the vintage vehicles looked great as they were framed against the backdrop of the old grandstand, from which crowds have enjoyed races over the years.
