When you’re celebrating his 75th birthday, you need to have a pretty raucous party – and that’s exactly what the people in Oregon decided to throw for their state capitals 75th. Reaching this milestone has certainly been a wild ride, and the people of Oregon look forward to being able to celebrate in a distinctly Oregon way by folding in a number of community events into the festivities. They’re planning to have live music, tons of food, family-friendly fun, and a classic car cruise that the area has never seen before – all planned down to the letter and ready to be executed the moment that the big birthday rolls around. Thousands of people have already committed to participating in the event, with local car clubs (and not so local car clubs) committing to bring out their finest vintage vehicles for this momentous occasion. One of the vehicles includes a 1937 Buick Roadmaster that was able to take part in the 50th birthday party (held in 1988), helping to bring a bit of continuity to the action. The event is tentatively planned for the weekend after October 1st, weather permitting, and should be skies decide to open up there will be a rain schedule so that everyone can attend.
