Channel 5 will be airing a new series called Classic Car Rescue which, as the name suggests, will be dedicated to finding some very worse for wear old vehicles and bringing them back up to scratch.
Presented by Bernie Fineman and Mario Pacione, the show will not only travel the length and breadth of the UK, looking for rust-riddled cars, but will also travel to North America in search of unloved models that need some attention.
Six episodes of the show have been commissioned and they will feature various classics, including a Porsche 911 and a Jaguar E-Type.
As well as restoring the likes of a Porsche 911, the show will also take its time to go into the history of each model and outline the impact which it had on the world of motoring.
Perhaps most impressive is the fact that Channel 5 will actually be giving away each of the six cars that are featured in the show, as part of competitions, so that viewers can get the chance to win a slice of perfectly restored history.
This will definitely help the viewing figures, because there are few enthusiasts who would want to miss the chance of netting a pristine classic.
