A club for people who love classic cars in the South Mississippi area is doing a good turn this Christmas and collecting gifts to give out to disadvantaged children in the local area.
There are over 130 members of the colorfully named Misfits Street Krewzers and they are hoping that they can use their classic cars and their generous spirits to deliver presents to families who are still struggling to recover from the effects of Hurricane Katrina, which struck six years ago, but whose impact is lingering for some underprivileged people.
The members of the car club will be making donations to the Toys for Tots foundation, and spokesperson, Terry Poore said that they have been associated with this charity over the past three years in order to brighten the festive season for youngsters in need.
The members of the club who do manage to give something to the charity drive this year will not go away empty-handed. Mr Poore said that people who are generous will receive a branded keepsake from the club which they can display in their classic car in order to strengthen the bonds between people who are involved in the event.
