If you are looking for a classic German sports car, then the Porsche 356 might be quite high on your wish list.
While there are plenty of pristine examples out there, you might end up opting for a model which is in a slightly ragged state, with an eye to work on it yourself and bring it back to its full glory.
A new video posted on YouTube by the team at Porsche Classic, the manufacturer's internal heritage wing, has revealed the kind of care and attention that goes into making many of the reproduction parts destined for use in vehicle restorations.
In particular, it focuses on the production of classic emblems for the Porsche 356, each of which must be historically accurate and finished with the same detailing as those that were originally affixed to such cars.
This involves an impressive degree of hand painted perfection and indicates that Porsche really wants to work hard to preserve the classic cars which it has built over the years, even if this requires quite a lot of effort.
When restoring a classic car, attention to detail is vitally important, since even the smallest element being out of place can spoil the overall effect.
