The VW Beetle is one of the most iconic cars ever built, but now a particularly remarkable example from this family is being put up for sale.
The car in question is one of seven remaining Beetles used in the Disney series of Herbie movies, made during the 1960s and is in mint condition, complete with the same paint job and technical details that it featured when it made its debut on camera.
The current owner is asking for at least $155,000 for this vintage Bug and is expecting that fans of both the car and the movie in which it found fame, could help to push the final sale price higher still.
The car features a hydraulically operated hood, four wheel steering and headlights which can flash to give it its key personality.
The owner said that he was compelled to sell this particular car after a recent auction made it apparent that movie-related vehicles are making big money at the moment.
A DeLorean used in the Back to the Future films sold for over $457,000 this year, so it is understandable that this Herbie model might be equally popular amongst movie and auto enthusiasts.
