A 1967 Ford Galaxie has been fully restored by the Pottstown Classics Club, all in order to prepare a gift for local army veteran, Brad Herron.
Mr Herron said that he was blown away by the hard work and generosity of the club's members and the local community, who brought his bright red Ford Galaxie back into showroom condition.
Club spokesperson, Gary Pace, said that they had slightly underestimated just how much work would be involved in the restoration of this classic car, but that with the help of the wider community, it was an achievable goal.
Mr Herron's wife got in touch with the club back in 2010, because she felt that the run down state of the Galaxie needed to be changed with outside help, as the family lacked the means to actually complete the work themselves.
Mr Herron has been a long time fan of classic cars and has even owned one or two in his time, although the Galaxie was going to be his pet project, if he could ever find the time or funds to commit to it.
Now, with a little help from friends, this vintage vehicle is in pristine condition and it is something that its owner will be able to treasure.
