An annual celebration of cult classic film phenomenon, The Big Lebowski, was held in Louisville, Kentucky, this month, with devotees of The Dude, a character portrayed by Jeff Bridges in the movie, descending upon the city for fun and frolics.

While there were plenty of Dude lookalikes swanning around in their robes and sunglasses, there were also a number of classic cars involved in the proceedings.

This is because the main character in this Coen Brother's flick drives around in a 1973 Ford Torino which is, to say the least, a little bit worse for wear, to fit in with the Dude's lax approach to existence.

The condition of the Ford Torino examples, which were rolled out for the Lebowski Fest in 2012, varied from the rusty and run down to the well kept, with plenty of fans on hand to gather around for a picture beside this classic, which has been made an icon by the film.

The event also featured plenty of music that is appropriately related to the film, along with hundreds of bearded men getting on with enjoying life free from the usual propriety which keeps us all towing the party line.
