For some fans of classic cars the idea of meddling in the design of the original vehicle is sacrilege, while others love the idea of modifying vintage vehicles in order to give them a unique style.
A 1959 Corvette Roadster, updated by German tuning team Pogea Racing, will definitely appeal to the latter group, as it has been rebuilt from the ground up in order to integrate modern features while still retaining the essence of the original.
Most of the hard work has gone into improving the engine and the drive train to bring the car kicking and screaming into the 21st century. The frame, brakes and suspension mounts are all new, as are the 19 inch wheels which give it the look of the classic, while still sticking to the all-important modern aesthetic.
Bucket seats wrapped in leather, a high end sound system and an attention to detail which echoes the classic cars on which it is based, gives this updated Corvette the best of the old and the new.
There is no doubt that not everyone will be a fan of this kind of radical work applied to a vintage vehicle. However, those that can appreciate its nuances will definitely find something to like.
