A man from Cortez, Florida, has finally finished the work required to restore his classic 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt to its former glory, but only after receiving some much needed help from a company in Chanute, Kansas.

Joe Curley had hit on one major issue when trying to rebuild this classic muscle car - he was unable to get a replacement air-duct hose since most of the individuals and companies he contacted said that this part had been unavailable for the best part of two decades.

This kind of setback might put other classic cars out to pasture, but the persistence of Mr Curley eventually resulted in him contacting David Gossett, a man who works for an engineering company in Chanute.

The two began a lengthy series of correspondence, which culminated with them finalising a $150 order for an air-duct hose which would work with classic cars like the Fairlane Thunderbolt.

Mr Curley was particularly grateful to Mr Gossett because building the part required would have made his company absolutely no profit, but it was, instead, a labour of love, enacted by a man who wanted to help a fellow enthusiast complete the restoration of an under appreciated classic.
