While Hollywood actors are usually associated with environmentally conscious runabouts like the Toyota Prius or stretch limousines, it seems that classic cars from American manufacturers are making something of a resurgence amongst the great and good of the silver screen.

A slew of celebrities have been spotted out and about in vintage muscle cars in recent weeks. Amber Heard, an actress who was most recently found starring in The Rum Diaries alongside Johnny Depp, was snapped in a 1968 Ford Mustang, which she has also mentioned in interviews.

Meanwhile, Cam Gigandet, who is best known for appearing in the teen-friendly Twilight movies, drives a fully restored Mustang Shelby GT500, which has undergone some obvious modifications while at the shop.

Pop star and actor Nick Jonas is another man with a taste for classic cars. He has been the proud owner of a Ford Mustang Cobra, again from 1968, for the past two years.

Ford is not the only firm which finds its old models under the spotlight thanks to movie stars. Oldsmobiles and even classic Aston Martins have been gracing parties and screenings across Hollywood, suggesting that vintage motoring is so hot right now in LA.
