MG B Roadster, for sale in Stratford, Connecticut, for $5,900.

A very early rubber bumper car. . October 1974. . . absolutely rust free, perfect floor, excellent body and paint, very nice (presumably) original interior, and REALLY goes.

No idea why. No engine rebuilding history BUT we drove it 30 miles to our office and we were amazed at the performance. Feels more powerful than the earliest and highest powered of Bs (1962-1967). No doubt the Weber carb helps. But I would be fascinated to see if it has a cam and a raised compression ratio 'cause it certainly feels the part.

Perfect oil pressue (after 30 miles), no smoke, excellent gearbox, tracks nice and straight, VERY clean engine bay, excellent top, carpeted trunk, full tonneau, stereo/CD unit, this is a beautiful MGB regardless of the bumpers.

Bumpers? Well, either luv 'em or not, there ARE CHOICES. One, leave it alone. As I found with my own '75, they grow on you and certainly allow parallel parking with less worry. Second, paitnt them body color. Really looks great. Finally? Chrome bumper conversions are available and, one day, we plan on taking a rusted B and grafting the grille, bumpers and brackets, and anything else. CAN'T be that hard.

This is a top quality B at a very reasonable price. One that appears to need absolutely nothing for a fun season of sports car driving. And they used to say, back when, 'you never forget your first MG. '
