MG B Roadster, for sale in Stratford, Connecticut, for $14,500.
Sold by us four years ago and, after a very happy ownership, reunited with us in a 'trade up. '
41,000 genuine miles, looks and runs the part. . almost like brand new. Near perfect body and very nice paint, excellent original drive train, interior, etc. A real joy to drive. Literally looks and drives like new.
Fitted with a Weber carb for extra performance, luggage rack, stereo/CD, even the clock works. No rust under the floor, sills, battery box, the original wiring harness looks 'as new, ' its overdrive transmission gives six forward ratios, and the car will cruise at near 70 moh turning a mere 3,000 rpm.
Just finished a first class professional chrome bumper conversion. New chrome, brackets, lights, indistinguishable from an earlier B but with a nicer dash, better electrics, servo brakes, etc.
We also lowered the rear and fitted lower front springs to bring the ride height back down to pre 1974 1/2 levels, installed a nice set of original (early) perforated steel wheels with hubs. We can also offer this car with new Minilites or even a wire wheel conversion.
See, the later cars suffered from less than attractive bumpers, raised ride height to meet Federal bumper height standards, and anemic performance from its single Stromberg carbed engine. BUT there were virtues. . . better build quality, better electrics, dual circuit servo assist brakes, better dash (in the late model rubber bumper cars), better cooling system, twin electric cooling fans, etc.
HENCE. . . this car will be the best of both worlds. . . better performance with the Weber carb, better handling with the lowered suspension, better esthetics with the new chrome bumper installation yet retaining the other virtues.
A rare opportunity to purchase a lovely MGB that can be used in all seasons (yes, a/c IS available) and for distance driving.
All reasons I enjoy my own 1975 ex-rubber bumper MGB. . with all of the 'goodies' added. Great car.
