Lincoln Continental, White, for sale in Charlotte, North Carolina, for $29,995.

If you've been paying any attention at all to pop culture, you know that the iconic Lincoln Continental sedan is red hot right now. Everyone from pro athletes to rappers to movie stars are snatching up the stylish cruisers the same way young hipsters are dressing themselves in skinny ties and tapered suits to emulate the hottest shows on TV. This 1964 Continental is 100% ready to cruise thanks to a nicely done restoration that puts a modern spin on the classic design. The paint is actually a Cadillac color called White Diamond, and looks brilliant on the chiseled flanks of the big Connie. That's a lot of sheetmetal to prep, but the guys who refinished this one were pros and it looks crisp, with all the wonderful details fully intact. You'll really dig things like the chrome strips that run along the tops of the fenders and doors in an unbroken line, the highly detailed grille, and, of course, those suicide rear doors that turn simple door handles into design statements. The chrome is brilliantly restored, including both front and rear bumpers, and all the Continental emblems are crisp. This is a seriously nice car.

And if you think the body is cool, wait until you see the interior. Custom upholstered in two-tone leather, the interior is like artwork. Emulating the original patterns, but emphasizing the details with color, it's a brilliant update that flatters the design. Even the dash and door panels have been refinished to match. Of course, as a top-of-the-line luxury car, everything is standard, from power windows and locks to A/C, and it all works as it should.

Power is delivered by a 430 cubic inch V8, the largest in Ford's arsenal in 1964. A chrome air cleaner adds some flash, and the valve covers have been painted satin silver instead of Ford Blue, which is a neat update. The A/C has been converted to R134a and uses a brand new compressor to deliver ice-cold air inside. It fires up with a muscular rumble from the fresh dual exhaust system, and pulls effortlessly on the highway where it glides over bumps like a hovercraft. The suspension appears to have been slightly lowered, hunkering the big body down over a set of wide whites on 15-inch steel wheels wearing the original hubcaps.

It's hard not to fall in love with this car. You just know Frank Sinatra drove one up and down the strip in Vegas, and there was no other car in the 1960s that said you were The Man like a Continental. As the last of the hand-built Lincolns, they were renowned for their luxury and performance, all of which is what makes them so popular today. There are lesser examples for less money, but sorting one of these out is not a job for the faint-hearted. This one is ready to cruise and you'll feel like a million bucks doing it. Call today!
